Ruth Dale, author of Mafia Misses, Kingdoms Abound, and A Fancy Story, typically writes in the genres of romance, crime/thriller, dystopian, science fiction, and fantasy. She believes in the importance of all different types of love – familial, romantic, and friendship – and tries to reflect that in her works, as well as the themes of survival and courage.
Currently, Ruth is finishing her BA in Creative Writing & English at Southern New Hampshire University. Ruth was born and raised in Virginia, where her love of writing began in hushed whispers over traded notebooks at sleepovers with her best friend and fellow budding author, M. Her passion started young, and was briefly rewarded by one short story and two poems being published in her high school’s literary magazine over the course of her two final years.
At the same time, Ruth met and married her high school sweetheart, beginning an adventure that’s still going strong ten years later. They are keeping the romance alive by adding a rageful cat, needy dog, and beautiful little boy to their family over that time. Her husband thinks it’s creepy that she needs absolute and total silence in order to write, but adores her writing so he lets it slide. Between the silence and the chaos, Ruth enjoys sweet red wines, spending quality time with her family and her in-laws, and swimming laps around her husband who sinks like a rock. She’s also currently working on a poetry anthology.
